This is one of my proudest project builds to date! Moving into our new house allowed the opportunity to build a lot of our own furniture to really make the home our own. This farmhouse-styled dining table was the first piece of furniture I ended up building for the house and I'm grateful that the Home Depot decided to sponsor this build as well!
You can find more in-depth plans for this build on the Home Depot Blog at https://blog.homedepot.com/diy-farmhouse-dining-table/
This was a relatively easy build as long as you have the right tools on hand and some time to get it all done. The most important parts (where I ended up spending most of my time) was on making the tabletop as flat as possible. This was actually the first time I used a combination of a jointer and planer to ensure the boards were flat on the both the top/bottom and the sides of each board. This allowed for them to sit tight and close to each other. I also ended up really loving the color that came out from the mixture of white wash and dark walnut stain that was used for the top of this table! I finished off this table top by using about 5 different coats of a finishing sealer, and sanded the table top to a high-grit to make it a smooth, glass-like finish!
Check out the walkthrough of the build with the linked video above and make sure you take a look at the step-by-step plans (with several of the tools and materials linked) in the home depot blog linked above as well!
